Installation Process of PE Container Liner Bags

Installing a PE (polyethylene) container liner bag properly is critical to protect bulk cargo from moisture, contamination, and physical damage during shipment. Below is a standard step‑by‑step procedure:

1. Pre‑installation inspection

Check the shipping container for sharp edges, protrusions, or debris. Sweep or vacuum the floor and walls. Place protective corner boards or cardboard sheets over any exposed rivets or weld seams to prevent puncturing the liner.

2. Positioning the liner

Unfold the PE liner bag inside the container.Spread the bag evenly along the floor, walls, and ceiling. The liner’s sewn‑in baffles or straps should align with the container’s internal tie‑down rings.

3. Securing the liner

Fasten the built‑in loops or straps to the container’s lashing rings. This keeps the liner taut and prevents sagging during filling.

4. Loading the cargo

For dry bulk materials (e.g., grains, pellets, powders), use a pneumatic or auger filling system through the designated inlet sock. Fill evenly to avoid unbalanced pressure. For FIBC‑type liners, follow the recommended fill weight and height. During loading, periodically check that the liner remains centered and untwisted.

5. Sealing and closing

After reaching the desired fill level, close the inlet spout with a zip‑tie or heat seal. Fold and tuck the excess material neatly inside the container. Roll down the door‑end flap and secure it with the container’s door rods or with additional straps.

6. Final check

Inspect all seals for tightness. Ensure no part of the liner is pinched between the door hinges or locking bars. Close and lock the container doors. The installation is now complete, and the cargo is ready for transport.
