What is a Flexitank?

A flexitank is a bulk liquid container for use in a shipping container. Flexitanks, also known as ‘Flexibags’, are large flexible containers which transform the conventional shipping container from a dry goods carrier into a safe and efficient bulk liquid transport container. Flexitanks offer a superior alternative to ISO tank containers for shipping juices, oils, food-grade liquids and nonhazardous chemicals around the world.

1.Flexitanks Offer Larger Quantities than IBC’s & Barrels

Unlike drums and IBC’s, flexitanks are easy to fill up at once, you don’t have to fill up multiple containers and get them onto a truck, with flexitanks you fill them once – inside of the shipping container for efficient and effective use, meaning higher volumes of liquid can be shipped at one time.

A Flexitank can hold much more product in one go. On average, they hold 24,000 litres – speeding up the loading process by filling only one tank, compared to a barrel which holds 207 litres, meaning you would need 85 barrels for only one flexitank!
